Fireteam Raven help the Marines fend off several waves of dropships, before manning some captured Shade turrets to begin fending off aircraft. Here, the team is debriefed by Major Silva, though the meeting is interrupted by the start of a Covenant attack. ![]() Eventually, the team help the Marines secure the ship, and are consequently taken to Alpha Base. They arrive in time to observe a raid being conducted by allied UNSC forces, and proceed to assist by manning a Warthog. The team then begin making a twenty-eight hour hike across the installation, guided by Wellsley, to reach the ship's crash site. The team enter their drop pods and proceed to land on Installation 04 in time to watch the Pillar of Autumn crash in the distance. On their way back, they encounter Master Chief entering his own lifeboat.Īt this point, they are informed that Captain Keyes has ordered all personnel to abandon ship. Eventually, the team re-enter the ship and link back up at their drop pods. Eventually, the team are commandeered by Wellsley to take a spacewalk into a breached compartment and man the ship's M910 Rampart turrets, fending off Covenant strike fighters. The team then proceed to battle a variety of Grunts, Jackals and Elites inside the ship, making their way through the internal corridors. Fireteam Raven are briefed by Major Antonio Silva on their mission defend Pillar of Autumn from Covenant boarders. The game opens on September 19, 2552, with the UNSC Pillar of Autumn arriving in the Soell system at Installation 04, being met by the Fleet of Particular Justice. Of course, it could be a pure coincidence and nothing more, but the absence of knowledge about the foundation of the bunkers could mean there is a common heritage for both defensive positions lost to history.Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.įireteam Raven takes place concurrently with the events of Halo: Combat Evolved. Scholars of the planet Triaxus have puzzled about the similarities evinced between the bunkers in the Firewatch Peaks and the Watches of the Parapet Mountains separating the Skyfire Mandate from the Drakelands. The fortifications are often tested by orc attack, most notably from the nearby Skull Eater tribe. This makes the defenses ideal against the ever-present threat of dragon attacks from Raschka-Tor. ![]() More impressive is that in times of attack the stone roofs are capable of being lowered into the ground, making the bunkers virtually impervious to attack. In addition to underground tunnels, connecting each fortress, individual bunkers can communicate to each other (and the outside world) via trained hawks. The structures themselves predate the inhabitants of Ustalav, however, instead bearing markings of dwarven design. In total, there are twelve bunkers in operation, all under the control of the County of Canterwall and with the intention of monitoring orc (and sometimes dragon) activity in the area. The Firewatch Peaks are a series of squat bunkers manned by soldiers from Ustalav located in the Tusk Mountains of the Hold of Belkzen, just south of Whisperfall Pass.
